Jenas: Berbatov's on fire

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has hailed the impact of summer signing Dimitar Berbatov at White Hart Lane this season.

The 26-year-old Bulgaria striker has netted 19 goals for Spurs already this term since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, making his £10.9million price-tag look like one of the bargains of the season.

Jenas told BBC Sport: "Berbatov is on fire at the minute.

"His partnership with Robbie Keane is blossoming and with him on this form we've got a great chance of winning at least one cup this season.

"He's brilliant to play with. He's the kind of player you give the ball to, he'll hold on to it, you run by him and he'll find you.

"He's a great asset to the team. He's not only scoring goals, but he's working hard for the team as well, getting back when he has to and getting his rewards up the other end.

"It's never easy when you're coming from abroad and it's very difficult to adapt straight away, but he's done it quicker than most and now he just needs to maintain the form he's in.

"I suppose the better he plays the more chance there is of him being linked with other clubs, but I'd sooner have him playing well."
