Injury sidelines Dos Santos
07 Nov 2008 - 13:59:11
Mexico international Giovani Dos Santos is set for a spell on the sidelines, according to Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.
The teenager missed Thursday's UEFA Cup victory against Dinamo Zagreb after injury an ankle in training.
"He picked up a nasty injury in training on Monday morning and he'll be out for a while," confirmed Redknapp.
"(Mexico boss) Sven-Goran Eriksson rang me a few days ago and asked how he was. We're not sure how long he'll be out for."
Nineteen-year-old Dos Santos has started only three games for Spurs since his summer switch from Barcelona, the last coming in the narrow UEFA Cup victory against Wisla Krakow in mid-September.
His last substitute appearance came in Juande Ramos' final game in charge of the club - the 2-0 defeat at Udinese.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Joe Jordan, whose departure from Portsmouth was confirmed on Friday lunchtime, is set to be reunited with Harry Redknapp after accepting a coaching role at White Hart Lane.
