Hutton ready for Iceland encounter
Published : 30 Mar 2009 13:45:00

Tottenham defender Alan Hutton insists he is ready and raring to start for Scotland's World Cup qualifier against Iceland on Wednesday. The full-back made his return from a long-term foot problem as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Holland. Hutton made a second-half cameo appearance and he could be in line to start the must-win World Cup qualifier with Iceland at Hampden Park. The former Rangers man is desperate to return to action after such a long spell on the sidelines."Personally I have been working really hard over the last few weeks," said Hutton. "Obviously I got on the other night and I felt sharp so if called upon I don't see why I could not be able to do my best. "I have been working very hard, a lot harder than how I did last time, knowing that these games were coming up. "Personally I am quite naturally fit anyway, which is a plus for me, so I am feeling very good at the moment and if called upon hopefully I will be able to do my best. "I have been desperate to play for months, so obviously when I got the call I could have run up here."I have done everything I possibly could to get fit for it and I would like to think I am."
