Huddlestone happy with Harry
07 Nov 2008 - 11:44:09
Tom Huddlestone has admitted that he thought his Tottenham career was over before Harry Redknapp succeeded Juande Ramos in the White Hart Lane hot-seat less than two weeks ago.
The midfielder, who scored an outstanding goal in Thursday's 4-0 UEFA Cup demolition of Dinamo Zagreb, has played a pivotal role in Spurs' recent improvement which has seen them beat Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool as well as hitting back to draw 4-4 at Arsenal.
However, the former Derby County star has admitted that he was finding it tough under Ramos' stewardship, telling the Evening Standard: "If you're not playing, you always think about the future.
"If you're not getting in the team when they're winning, then it's fair enough. But if the team are losing and you're still not playing, then things do go through your mind.
"Under the previous manager, I'd started only one game out of 12, which was very disappointing. But since Harry has come in, I've played four out of four and we've done well, so hopefully it will continue.
"We knew we were still good players. We didn't become bad overnight and everyone has put aside our bad start to the season."
Meanwhile, Ramos is believed to have agreed a compensation package of £1.7million following his departure last month.
