Harry rues 'open' Spurs

Harry Redknapp was unhappy with his side's defending but is already planning for next season after Tottenham Hotspur's defeat to Liverpool on the final day of the season. Robbie Keane scored on his first return to his former employers but Spurs failed in their bid to gatecrash the last spot for the inaugural Europa League after succumbing to a 3-1 reverse at Anfield on Sunday. And Redknapp was left to rue his side's failings at both ends of the field, the Spurs boss told Sky Sports: "We had a couple of good opportunities where we hit them (on the counter-attack) and you just need to finish one and put ourselves right. "We got back in the game at 2-1 but then again we were defensively we were very open. "It is something we have got to look at - our away form this year has not been good enough we need to improve on next year." Summer additions Redknapp, whose side end the 2008/2009 campaign in eighth position as well as reaching the final of the League Cup, expects new faces to arrive at White Hart Lane next term and has his sights on challenging for a UEFA Champions League spot. "Myself and the chairman feel there is some work to be done in the summer," he added. "We need to change one or two around. If we do that and push on next year and see if we can get closer to the top four. "We are not far away but we are still, in my opinion, two or three good players away from being close enough to really push into that group.
