Harry revels in Spurs victory
13 Nov 2008 - 07:52:40
Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp was delighted with his side's superb display in their 4-2 Carling Cup fourth round victory at home to Liverpool.
Roman Pavlyuchenko and Fraizer Campbell both scored twice for the holders, as they swept aside a below-par Reds outfit at White Hart Lane.
Afterwards, Redknapp beamed: "It was a great night, a cracking atmosphere and a terrific result for us.
"We've got to enjoy it now because we'll have ups and downs throughout the season. Fulham on Saturday is another massive game and we need league points to get up that table."
Redknapp went on to hail the atmosphere among his squad, having seen Spurs win five of their six games since his arrival from Portsmouth.
He added: "If you're in it, you want to win it. I've sensed a strong desire that they want to win every game.
"I should get out now, I've taken them as far as I can! They are all enjoying it, when you are winning it is easy. That is why we want to keep this run going."
Meanwhile, Spurs are waiting to discover the extent of the injury suffered by goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who took a blow to the face following a collision with visiting defender Philipp Degen.
However, Redknapp is confident that the Brazilian will be fit for the weekend action, concluding: "He's not too bad. He took a bang in the mouth, but he should be okay for the weekend."
