Harry quick to cool top-four talk

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has dismissed suggestions that his side now has fourth place in the Premier League sewn up.

Saturday's 2-0 victory over rock-bottom Portsmouth moved Spurs five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester City.

Goals from Pompey old-boys Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar secured a routine victory for the north London club, but afterwards Redknapp was keen to play down talk that his side are now on course to claim the final Champions League qualifying place.

Aston Villa's own 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea further strengthened Spurs' European aspirations.

"We're on a terrific run," said Redknapp. "That is five league wins on the spin now, which has kept us right in the race for fourth spot and we are in good form.

"Villa now have it all do after their result at Chelsea which is a massive setback, but Liverpool have got a fantastic run-in and you cannot see them dropping many points.

"But you never know. There are no easy games this time of season and everyone is scrapping for points for all sorts of reasons."

Meanwhile, Redknapp is keeping his fingers crossed that captain Michael Dawson is not set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines despite limping off in the second half with an Achilles problem.
