Benoit Assou-Ekotto says Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has given him hope of playing in next year's World Cup in South Africa.
The Spurs full-back has been given a new lease of life under Redknapp and put in a number of eye-catching performances this season.
He has been rewarded with a new contract from Spurs and a call-up for the Cameroon national team, reports The Sun.And Assou-Ekotto, 25, said: 'Harry obviously believes in me, the other managers maybe didn't believe in me as much.'They said I should be a happier person or smile more, or speak more English but it doesn't matter because I can prove it on the pitch.'That is what I'm doing at the moment by playing more and becoming a better player for Tottenham Hotspur.'
