Manager Harry Redknapp admitted that his Tottenham Hotspur side had been made to fight all the way to secure a 2-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers.
Two goals from Peter Crouch separated the two sides at Ewood Park, with Redknapp aware that the home side had put up a sterling performance before being undone by the England striker.
He told the club's official website: "It wasn't about a free-flowing performance. The conditions were difficult, we had sleet and snow coming down throughout the game and Blackburn worked very hard.
"They worked hard as Sam's (Allardyce) teams always do, pressed us, closed us down and made it difficult for us.
"They had one or two opportunities as well and it wasn't an easy game, it was a tough game and we ground it out.
"It's a big win for us because Blackburn is always a tough place to go to. It wasn't a classic, but everyone worked hard and it's a big three points for us."
