Harry hails solid Spurs

Harry Redknapp was delighted to see his Tottenham side keep another clean sheet on Sunday. Spurs' watertight defence kept struggling Newcastle at bay during a tight contest at White Hart Lane, which the hosts eventually took 1-0. Darren Bent proved to be the hero for Redknapp's men, but the victory was built on solid foundations. Tottenham have now kept five consecutive clean sheets on home soil and have discovered a steely resilience which was missing at the start of the campaign. "We had opportunities but I was pleased to come off without conceding," Redknapp told Sky Sports after the Magpies success. "Our defensive record here has been incredible, the amount of goals we have conceded has been fantastic, so to get another clean sheet was pleasing. "Sometimes you win 1-0 and that's what good teams do, you are not always going to get three or four goals." A fourth win in five outings has also kept Tottenham in the hunt for a top-seven finish this season. SuperbThey currently sit ninth, level with Fulham and a point behind West Ham, and Redknapp is delighted to still be in with a chance of securing European football after a difficult season for the club. "It's been a terrific season, for me, with the Carling Cup final and to have 44 points after having two after eight games," he added. "That's fantastic and credit to the players, who have been superb. I think we play some great football at times, we move the ball great, we pass it well and have good movement. We are a good side. "It now gives us a chance, it gives us something to go for. We have some tough games coming up, and Manchester City will be in and around us, but we have got a chance. "When we started we certainly weren't thinking about Europe so it's great that we are so close now." Redknapp also revealed that Michael Dawson, who was carried off against Newcastle, could be out for some time with an ankle injury. "Hopefully he's not too bad. It looks like he's got a nasty injury, though, and he's going for a scan," he said.
