Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that his club have had an initial offer for striker Craig Bellamy rejected by West Ham United.
Redknapp is keen to add to his White Hart Lane squad in the New Year, with Wales international Bellamy one of his main targets.
"I like Craig Bellamy," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "It apparently came out an offer was turned down, so I don't know where we go from here.
"We're looking round a few players and he's certainly one of them.
"If we can't get the players I think will improve the squad, then I won't bring in anybody.
"I'm not going to load us up with players that aren't better than we've got."
Meanwhile, Real Mallorca's Venezuela international Juan Arango has distanced himself from rumours linking him with Spurs.
The 28-year-old said: "Rumours, they are just rumours. I always receive offers and proposals.
"Before the beginning of the season, I was told something on Liverpool or Tottenham. Now, they are talking about Panathinaikos and another possibility with an English team.
"As long as I am not given a concrete offer, they are just rumours."
