Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp insists Premier League survival remains the priority despite Wednesday's Carling Cup quarter-final meeting with Watford.
The current Carling Cup holders face the Championship side at Vicarage Road with a place in the last four up for grabs, but Redknapp remains focussed on improving their fortunes in the league.
Spurs are currently 16th in the Premier League table following their pick-up under his leadership.
"It will be a tough game but league points are all-important to us," said the former Portsmouth manager.
"I said it all along it's the league position that is vital.
"The long-term and most important thing at the club is the Premier League, it's got to be.
"That is the most important thing by far."
