Harry: Future bright for Tom

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has assured Tom Huddlestone that he still has a bright future at White Hart Lane.

Huddlestone, 22, has struggled to hold down a starting berth during Redknapp's time at the helm of the north London club.

England head coach Fabio Capello is a known admirer of the midfielder and Redknapp - by comparing the former Derby County youngster to Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle - still believes he forge a successful career at the club.

Huddlestone has started just ten Premier League games this season.

"He has the fantastic playing ability like Hoddle to spray the ball all over the park," claimed Redknapp.

"If he is as good as Glenn he will be a great player as Glenn was fantastic.

"Sometimes he has to boss a game more. He is like a quarter-back, he can deliver a pass on a sixpence from 40 yards with his left foot or right foot. He can put people in, he has the talent to do that.

"But he has to keep getting the ball and sometimes he does not demand the ball enough and he does not take the game by the scruff of the neck.

"I said this morning to him he has to get at people. If they don't give it to him, he has to tell them: 'Give me the ball. I am a better passer than you. You get it, give it to me and I will deliver the passes'.

"I see him being a big part of the future as I see he has great talent."

Meanwhile, Redknapp claims he has already identified 'two or three' new players he would like to sign in the summer.
