Gomes enjoys Spurs revival

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes believes that the spirit in the White Hart Lane has improved dramatically since the arrival of new manager Harry Redknapp.

Spurs have picked up seven points from their last three games and, although they still prop up the Premier League table, Gomes is confident that his side can move away from trouble.

He told the club's official website: "I think the key is belief at the moment. The team is playing with more confidence now and we have picked up three very good results.

"We went through a difficult period, but worked hard in training to put things right, so now this is a good time for the team.

"When I first arrived here, although we had a good pre-season, we didn't have the best of starts in the league.

"But now we are playing well again and it's a good moment for the team, which is important for the newer players."

Gomes' team-mate, Roman Pavlyuchenko, also thinks that the arrival of Redknapp has helped turned things around at the north London club.

He told The Sun: "Everyone is more optimistic and he atmosphere in the dressing room has changed completely. We feel more at ease.

"It's a pity Juande Ramos had to go, he is not a bad manager, but we couldn't get decent results under him.

"You couldn't recognise how much the team has changed since."
