Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hossam Ghaly is hoping a knee injury will not scupper his chances of a summer departure.
The 26-year-old Egyptian has been told he can leave White Hart Lane after an unhappy two-year spell, but tore knee ligaments while on international duty last weekend.
Ghaly has made just 21 Premier League appearances for Spurs since joining from Feyenoord in 2006 and spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at Derby County.
However, having rejected the opportunity to join the Rams in the Championship for the new season, Ghaly now fears he may miss out on another move until the transfer window reopens in January.
"I tore knee ligaments," he confirmed. "Doctors say I will be out for three months, but I hope it would not hinder my chances of finding a new club."
