Tottenham boss Martin Jol admits it will be difficult for Hossam Ghaly to win his place back in his first-team plans after the Egyptian's move to Birmingham City collapsed.
Ghaly has returned to Spurs after Blues boss Steve Bruce slammed the midfielder for his poor attitude and opted not to go ahead with his signing.
Jol admitted: "He's a Tottenham player and I haven't heard his side of the story.
"I could say it's a private matter, but of course it's not because everybody will know about it.
"I will have a talk with him and then we'll let you know.
"We thought he was gone, so we bought Boateng and it is not easy for him.
"Last year, number one was Aaron Lennon and Hossam Ghaly was my second choice on the right of midfield.
"He did unbelievably well, he maybe had more assists than any other player, but we have bought Boateng.
"It's always nice to have three or four choices on the right, but sometimes it's a bit too much, so we will have to talk to him."
