Double blow for Spurs
07 Dec 2006 - 16:00:43
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a double injury blow with Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas both ruled out of the busy festive period.
Republic of Ireland striker Keane faces six weeks on the sidelines after damaging medial knee ligaments during Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, England midfielder Jenas picked up an ankle knock in last weekend's derby defeat at Arsenal and will be out of action for around one month.
"Robbie has a medial ligament strain and will be out for five to six weeks, although hopefully he'll return a bit earlier because he's a quick healer," a disappointed Spurs boss Martin Jol told the club's official website.
"JJ took a blow to his ankle and he'll probably be out for four weeks. That's a blow for him as well."
