Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is on course to make his comeback from an ankle injury in November.
Defoe has been sidelined since picking up a ligament injury which required surgery during England's Euro 2012 qualifying victory over Switzerland on September 7.
The striker, who had scored one goal in four appearances prior to his lay-off, was initially expected to be sidelined until December.
"Jermain is progressing very well in the gym at the moment working on building up his muscles in and around the calf," revealed manager Harry Redknapp.
"He is due to start running soon and could return for us next month.
"Jermain's return will be a major boost for us. It will put more pressure on our strikers, which will be great for us."
