Dawson requests FA hearing

Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has denied an FA charge of improper conduct relating to his reaction to being sent off in the 2-1 defeat at Stoke City. Dawson was dismissed in the final minutes of the loss at the Britannia Stadium for a strong challenge on Mamady Sidibe and reacted angrily to being shown a red card by referee Lee Mason. Spurs were already down to ten men following the earlier sending-off of Gareth Bale, with the loss leaving the north London side marooned at the foot of the Premier League table. However, Dawson has denied any wrongdoing and a regulatory commission will sit to hear the case on Thursday. A short FA statement said: "Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has denied a charge of improper conduct and requested a personal hearing."
