Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has been hit with an FA misconduct charge relating to the aftermath of his sending-off against Stoke City. Dawson was dismissed in the final minutes of the 2-1 defeat at the Britannia Stadium for a strong challenge on Mamady Sidibe and reacted angrily to being shown a red card by referee Lee Mason. Spurs were already down to ten men following the earlier sending-off of Gareth Bale, with the loss leaving the north London side marooned at the foot of the Premier League table. Head coach Juande Ramos had said straight after the game: "It's difficult to explain games like this. We had two penalties against us and two men sent off. "The first was a penalty, but perhaps the red card was a little harsh, it should have been a yellow card. "It was difficult with ten men, but the team played well for the rest of the first half. The team played correctly, we drew level and we created chances "The second goal for Stoke made it difficult for us, but I thought the attitude of the players was very good."
