Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Croatia international defender Vedran Corluka from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The 22-year-old has been the subject of strong interest from Spurs for several weeks and Corluka is pleased to be heading for the capital.
He told Tottenham's official club website: "I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend Luka Modric is here, so it is a very happy day for me."
Citizens manager, Mark Hughes, had earlier admitted that he was uncertain whether Corluka would still be a City player come the end of the day.
He said after the 3-0 win at Sunderland: "At the moment, there is a lot of interest from Spurs. It's not resolved in one way or the other at the moment.
"Those things need to be resolved and come to a conclusion. At the end of the day, we are still trying to build the club, trying to bring good players to the club who will make us better.
"I need an update. In fairness, I need to speak to people in and around the club. Things may well have happened today (Sunday)."
Corluka joined City just over a year ago from Dinamo Zagreb and has scored once in 47 appearances for the Eastlands club.
