Coloccini no to Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of signing Fabricio Coloccini have been dashed after the out-of-favour Deportivo La Coruna defender insisted he wants to stay at the Riazor.

The Argentina international had been linked with a transfer window departure from the La Liga club after being dropped for the last three games.

But Coloccini, 24, wants to stay at Depor and fight for his place, despite reported interest from both Spurs and Mallorca.

"I am happy at Deportivo and I want to stay here," he is quoted as saying. "I never said I wanted to leave Deportivo.

"I am not going to change teams right now. After some time has gone by I will analyse my situation.

"I understand that some people may have been surprised when I wasn't included in the team by the coach, but he is the one who takes each decision and we have to respect them.

"I don't have any problem with the coach."
