Chimbonda exit talk cools

Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda is not trying to seal a move from White Hart Lane to Newcastle United, according to the player's agent.
The former Wigan Athletic star has been linked with a move to the north-east, and claims were made in Friday's newspapers that he did not care that Spurs had reached next month's Carling Cup final.
However, the player's agent, Willie McKay, told Sky Sports: "There's no hiding the fact that Pascal is frustrated because the club are looking at new full-backs to replace him.
"However, he wouldn't disrespect Tottenham or his team-mates by saying he doesn't care about the club.
"Pascal cares about Spurs, he cares about his team-mates, he cares about his football and he cares about his career.
"Even if he does move on, Spurs will always have a place in his heart as will the fans.
"Anyone who thinks differently only has to look at his celebrations on the pitch after the win over Arsenal on Tuesday night and that proves everything."
Twenty-eight-year-old Chimbonda has made 83 first-team appearances for Spurs since joining the club from Wigan in August 2006.
However, he angered then Latics boss Paul Jewell by handing in a transfer request immediately after the final game of the season against Arsenal.
