Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has asked to be allowed to follow his dreams and make the move to Manchester United.
The 27-year-old Bulgaria international started on the bench for Spurs for their 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday, with talk of an imminent switch to Old Trafford reaching fever pitch.
Saturday press reports had even suggested that Berbatov had handed in a transfer request in order to force through an exit from White Hart Lane.
Berbatov told The Times: "I'm now at Tottenham, but no-one can disagree with me wanting to follow my dream."
His agent, Emil Dantchev, added: "We have two more weeks until the end of the transfer window and I think this will be the most important week.
"I read Alex Ferguson's statement that he wants another striker and I hope that this striker is Dimitar Berbatov."
