Bentley low following arrest
14 Aug 2009 - 16:53:28
Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that David Bentley is "really low" following his arrest on suspicion of drink-driving.
The England midfielder has been charged with drink-driving after crashing his car Wednesday evening.
The 24-year-old former Blackburn Rovers and Arsenal ace has been bailed until August 28 over the incident and has spoken of his regret about the crash.
Bentley returned to training on Friday and could play against Liverpool on Sunday, but Redknapp has revealed that the player is low.
"He's very lucky that no-one was injured, so he's got off quite lightly," he said.
"David Bentley is a good lad, a smashing lad. He's made a mistake. I spoke to him and he realises he's made a mistake.
"He's still here and available and has trained well. He's really low about what he has done."
