Arshavin gives up on Spurs

Russia star Andrei Arshavin appears to have given up on his move to Tottenham Hotspur after claiming his future now lies with current club Zenit St Petersburg.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder had been linked with a move to White Hart Lane after his impressive displays during 2008.
However, Spurs have refused to meet Zenit's reported £24million asking price and Arshavin has conceded his future now remains in the Russian Premier League.
The north London club are set to complete the signing of international team-mate Roman Pavlyuchenko after switching targets and Arshavin is now likely to be recalled to the Zenit side for Friday's UEFA Super Cup meeting with Manchester United in Monaco.
"I have a feeling we can put this story to bed," Arshavin told Sport Express.
"I think with the purchase of Pavlyuchenko the idea of Arshavin to London no longer exists."
