Agent cools Roman exit talk

Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has denied claiming that the Russia international is definitely on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Over the weekend, Oleg Artemov was quoted saying he was actively searching for a new club for the £14million striker, who has struggled to hold down a starting place during his one season at White Hart Lane.

Pavlyuchenko scored just five Premier League goals last season after slipping behind the returning Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane in the pecking order.

However, an angry Artemov has hit out at the media who he claims have twisted his words.

"It was a loose translation of my comments to the newspaper and the words were taken out of context," he claimed.

Meanwhile, Artemov claims that two European clubs remain seriously interested in signing his client.

He added: "Roma and Stuttgart have made some early steps towards the signing, but there have been no specific offers or negotiations as yet.

"Besides, Roman wants to play in London and is looking to prove that he can be an asset for Tottenham."
