Two Tottenham fans have been found guilty of  of shouting "shocking and disgusting" homophobic chants against Sol Campbell. The chants were made as Campbell's former club Spurs took on Portsmouth at Fratton Park in September 2008. Ian Trow, 42, of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and a 14-year-old had denied the charge of indecent chanting but were convicted at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court. The panel said the chant was "in extremely bad taste, they were inappropriate, shocking and disgusting, and as such they were indecent." This was the first case of indecent chanting to be brought to the courts.
