Win or lose, we're off the booze: Redknapp lays down the law at Spurs
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has placed an alcohol ban on his players even if they are successful in their battle to stay in the Premier League.
Redknapp would not let his Spurs stars drown their sorrows after losing the Carling Cup final on penalties against Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday.
And the former Portsmouth boss is refusing to pop the champagne corks even if his side maintains their top-flight status, according to The Sun.
He said: 'After the final we went back to a hotel and they didn't even look at a glass of alcohol.
'They had a chat, ate what the dieticians had laid out and went to bed.
'If we stay up? I won't be taking them for a drink. I would say to any player: Why do you need to booze?
'I enjoy a glass of wine when I go out for dinner but we are talking about players who are top of their profession.'
