West Ham striker Carlton Cole vows to assist Jermain Defoe

CARLTON COLE is determined to set up a goal for Jermain Defoe at Wembley tomorrow ? having already done it once this season by mistake![LNB]Cole was distraught after his terrible back-pass gifted Defoe an easy goal at Upton Park when West Ham faced Spurs in the Premier League this season.[LNB]The goal helped Spurs to a 2-1 victory but left Cole lying flat out on the pitch at the final whistle.[LNB] ?These things happen, it was an individual mistake, a moment of madness and I just know I won?t be doing that again because I don?t want to be feeling like that again,? he said.[LNB]?I just felt so gutted when it hit Defoe?s feet. I knew it would go straight in once he took that ball.[LNB]?He?s given me plenty of banter since then I can promise you. He texted me and I just told him, ?Listen mate, that?s gone now, so just be thankful I did that, and the next game you?ve got to give it to me now!'?[LNB]Ironically, Cole and Defoe hope to link up together in the same team tomorrow when England take on Slovenia in a friendly at Wembley. And at least they already have a formula in place for finding the net![LNB]?That?s the amazing thing about it," said Cole. ?Hopefully I can put him in like that again - that might get me into the next squad!?[LNB]
