West Ham 0 Tottenham 1: Defoe delivers Hammer blow as Spurs reach Beijing final

Jermain Defoe's second-half strike was enough to secure victory for Tottenham over West Ham at Beijing's Workers Stadium and a place in Friday's Barclays Asia Trophy final. The England striker struck in the 75th minute to cap a dominant performance from Spurs against his former club. There was added disappointment for the Hammers after losing Luis Boa-Morte early in the game, rupturing his knee ligaments following a challenge with Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Both sides had opted to play strong sides, with Spurs fielding new signing Kyle Naughton in midfield while Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko were paired in attack.
