Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda has warned his Tottenham team-mates that they are not yet safe. Speaking after he captained Spurs' second string to a 4-0 victory over Chelsea reserves at Brisbane Road on Monday night, the defender fired a warning to his team mates. Chimbonda said: 'We're definitely not safe yet. There is still work to do and we need at least another six points to be sure, but if we can get them I think we will be OK.' Spurred on: Tottenham's Pascal Chimbonda (left) and Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov battle for the ball Spurs are now looking likely to beat the drop but the defender believes the team's performances must still improve. He said: 'We did well against Aston Villa and it's performances like those that will see us safe but we need to play like that every time.' Chimbonda did not feature for Spurs at Villa Park but is relishing the opportunity to feature against a side he almost joined during his first spell at White Hart Lane. 'I want to play against Chelsea at the weekend. I'm working hard to get in the team and if the manager picks me, I'll be happy.'
