Tottenham new boy Rafael van der Vaart insists he is already enjoying English football after moving to White Hart Lane on deadline day.[LNB] Spurs snapped up the Dutchman from Real Madrid in a surprise move and he made his debut against West Brom at the weekend.[LNB]Van der Vaart later declared that he was satisfied with his performance, having been given the opportunity to play an advanced midfield role supporting lone striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.[LNB]He admits it will take more time to get completely used to the fast pace of the game, but he is looking forward to the challenge.[LNB]"It's hard in the Premier League. The speed of the game makes it difficult but I love it," Van der Vaart said in the Daily Mirror.[LNB]"It's easy to settle in when it is such a good team, and drifting behind the striker is where I like to play."[LNB]Van der Vaart is also relishing the prospect of playing in the Champions League, with Tottenham's group stage campaign getting underway against Werder Bremen on Tuesday.[LNB]The 27-year-old is familiar with the Bundesliga side after spending three years with Hamburg and knows their strengths and weaknesses.[LNB]He explained: "Werder are a team I know very well. They are strong going forward but defensively they have problems."[LNB]Spurs manager Harry Redknapp praised Van der Vaart after the game with West Brom and believes he can flourish as the creative playmaker in a 4-5-1 formation.[LNB]"That position suits him. We saw enough to see his quality - he's a proper player," said Redknapp.
