Giovanni Trapattoni feels Robbie Keane's return to Tottenham will come as a major boost for the Republic of Ireland.[LNB] Keane made a winter transfer deadline-day move back to Spurs after failing to fit the plans of Liverpool, who he had joined only six months earlier.[LNB]The 28-year-old scored just seven goals in 28 appearances for the Reds and spent much of his final few weeks at Anfield sitting on the bench.[LNB]For that reason Trapattoni believes the Republic will benefit from the striker's switch back to White Hart Lane, where he is expected to secure more first-team football.[LNB]Trapattoni told the Republic's official website: "Robbie is a player who thrives on playing regularly.[LNB]"Going to Spurs will give him regular games. That is good for Robbie and it is good for us.[LNB]"In my career, I have managed players of great quality like [Michel] Platini and [Zbigniew] Boniek at Juventus, [Nuno] Gomes at Benfica and [Ramon] Diaz at Inter to name just a few.[LNB]"To win, you need great champions. Robbie is one in this category."[LNB]
