With Real Madrid desperate to sign a new striker Jose Mourinho looks certain to sanction a summer clear-out to free up much-needed funds.

One man likely to be on his way out is Argentine midfielder Fernando Gago, who has struggled to establish himself with Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira and Lassana Diarra keeping him out of Mourinho's starting XI.

The defensive-minded 24-year-old is attracting serious interest in the Premier League with Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton all monitoring his situation. It is believed that Madrid could want up to £10 million for the former Boca Juniors man.

Gael Clichy is continuing to stall when it comes to signing a new deal with Arsenal, leading Arsene Wenger to look into possible replacements should the Frenchman move on the summer.

Top of Wenger's wishlist is Celtic's Emilio Izaquirre, who only joined the Glasgow club last summer. The Honduran international has been in top form since moving to Scotland, starting most games and turning in a number of impressive performances.

Neil Lennon bagged the former Motagua player on the cheap and would allow him to move to the Emirates for around £6m.

Manchester City are considering a move for Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey to provide competition for Joe Hart.

Tottenham could pay up to £5m to sign Joe Cole from Liverpool.

Real Madrid are interested in Everton's Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

Bayern Munich will move for Dimitar Berbatov if he fails to sign a new deal at Manchester United.

Real Sociedad winger Xabi Prieto could make a £10m move to Liverpool this summer.
