31 August 2010 07:10
Transfer deadline day awakes to a cracking story in the Daily Mirror, linking Tottenham with a shock move for former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor is worried about falling down the pecking order at Manchester City and Spurs are apparently ready to pounce - with chairman Daniel Levy sanctioning a loan deal to take on his massive wages.

Adebayor would cost Tottenham £170,000/week in salary, but boss Harry Redknapp thinks it would be money well spent and sees the Togo hitman as the perfect way to invest some of the Champions League funds now available at White Hart Lane.
