According to heightened speculation in today's papers Portsmouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic could be on his way out of Fratton Park amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Redknapp has already made strides in securing the signature of Begovic's Pompey team-mate Younes Kaboul and the south coast club may now be forced to part company with their young stopper in a bid to ease their financial woes.

The manner in which Portsmouth officials have dealt with their transfer dealings is alleged to have upset manager Avram Grant, who is said to be unhappy at being kept in the dark, and is considering walking away from the troubled outfit.

Meanwhile, Pompey's on-loan striker Aruna Dindane is said to be in discussion with Birmingham City regarding a permanent move from French club Lens.

Alex McLeish has made no secret of his desire to add to his strike force and according to reports in South America is exploring the possibility of bringing Argentinean striker Mauro Boselli to the club from Estudiantes de la Plata.

Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko also continues to be linked with the Blues, although they appear reluctant to meet Tottenham's valuation and are seemingly gambling on a late panic sale that would help to balance the books at White Hart Lane following the arrival of Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Sunderland are also said to be keen to add to their options up front and have been accredited with a move for Manchester City striker Benjani, who had previously appeared on the verge of signing for West Ham. It is unknown whether City boss Roberto Mancini is in fact willing to part with the forward, especially following the departure of Robinho on loan to Santos.

Elsewhere, as speculated on Tuesday, Manchester United's Brazilian midfielder Anderson could be on his way out of Old Trafford having failed to make the grade despite arriving with a big reputation. It is believed that French club Lyon are potential suitors.
