Tough Reds test for Spurs

17 June 2009 09:05
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will be drumming into his players the need to get off to a good start after last season's disaster, but he could have asked for an easier opener than Liverpool at home. Juande Ramos paid the price for taking just two points from eight games with his job last term, as Spurs' board relieved the Spaniard of his duties in October. After Liverpool, Redknapp takes his side north to face Hull City at the KC Stadium, before the opening month of the campaign is concluded with games against West Ham and Birmingham. Spurs travel to North London neighbours Arsenal on 31st October, before hosting Arsene Wenger's Gunners on 10th April, a tricky month that also includes games against Manchester United and Chelsea. Should Spurs be desperate for points at the season's end they'll have to take spoils from the North West as Manchester United, Bolton and Burnley represent their final three matches.
