Tottenham's Heurelho Gomes warns Harry Redknapp he won't warm bench

Redknapp signed the Italian on a free transfer in the January window and the new arrival has played in all three Premier League games since.[LNB]Gomes maintains that he is supported by chairman Daniel Levy and insists that should the situation persists he would not be prepared to play the role of Cudicini's understudy.[LNB]The former PSV Eindhoven player, who has endured an erratic spell at Tottenham since joining last summer, was restored to the side for the Uefa Cup trip to Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, but was culpable for one of the Ukranians' goals in their 2-0 win. [LNB]'It was disappointing to be left out of the Arsenal match earlier this month because I had told Harry I was ready to come back into the team,' said Gomes.[LNB]'I feel the club supports me and the chairman has told me I am his No 1.[LNB]'I don't feel threatened by Carlo because it is important for a club like Tottenham, with aspirations to challenge for honours, to have quality replacements for every position. [LNB]'I have at least three years left in my contract and intend to see them through. You are not going to see me happy on the bench, that's for sure. [LNB]'The absence of a keeper to stand in when I had a hip injury was one of our biggest problems this season. [LNB]'Having said that, I was signed to be the club's No 1 keeper and expect things to remain this way.' [LNB]Former manager Juande Ramos paid almost £8 million for Gomes last June but a number of high profile errors compromised his place in the starting line up.[LNB]However, Gomes believes the root of his early season lack of form was a persistent hip injury he has been carrying.[LNB]'Harry's support when I was having a bad time was fantastic,' he said, 'especially at a public level when everybody seemed to be having a go at me. [LNB]'I'm grateful to him for his trust but it wouldn't be enough without my commitment. [LNB]'He knows I am ready to work my socks off even when injured. There were times where the pain was incredible but I'd bite the bullet and play because the boss needed me. [LNB]'Of course, I have made mistakes that piled up in a way that never happened before in my career.'[LNB]
