Tottenham's Harry Redknapp denies David James link and puts faith in Carlo Cudicini

Redknapp is without Huerelho Gomes, his goalkeeper, after the Brazilian injured a thigh muscle in Wednesday's 5-1 win at Hull. [LNB]He will be out for up to three months, but Redknapp has insisted that he will keep faith with Cudicini in his absence rather than search for a replacement ahead of the transfer deadline. [LNB]'I've got a fantastic goalkeeper in Carlo so we're not desperate. He's a top, top goalkeeper.' [LNB]Redknapp has been linked with a move for Portsmouth goalkeeper David James but the manager added: 'I couldn't do anything with David. For me he's the best goalkeeper in the country, but we've still got Carlo.' [LNB]Tottenham are top after two games but Redknapp, who recalls Ledley King at West Ham, said: 'To break into the top four would be fantastic but very difficult. We've had a terrific start, but that's only two games. If we're still at the top after 18 or 20 games we'll all be getting a little bit excited. [LNB]'Everybody was writing Arsenal off last week and they turned in a great performance. Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool are all top teams and there are plenty of other great teams there.'
