Tottenham To Offer Brad Friedel Extended Deal

Tottenham Hotsupur will offer American goalkeeper Brad Friedel an extended deal to stay at Spurs and ward off any interest from old club, Blackburn Rovers – according to The Mirror.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas is a fan of the big shot-stopper and is keen to have him around despite Hugo Lloris taking the number one spot this season.

Friedel is a free agent at the end this season and Spurs could cash in, with Blackburn chief Henning Berg set to make a second bid for his former team-mate.

However Tottenham plan to offer Friedel terms to extend his White Hart Lane career, taking him well into his forties at the top level.

Friedel, 41, will decide whether to commit to Spurs soon it is expected, with himself and his family both rumoured to be happy in London.

Spurs are determined to keep Friedel as the club for back to Lloris, as Carlo Cudicini is expected to join LA Galaxy soon whilst Heurelho Gomes wants to return to Brazil.
