Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe fears lengthy lay-off with groin injury

Defoe has been troubled by the complaint for almost six months and is worried that he may suffer in the same way as team-mate Aaron Lennon, who was out for four months last season. [LNB]The winger had originally been predicted to miss just a month of football but the nature of the injury saw him sidelined for much of the second half of last season after he had been vital to Tottenham's early season form. Aaron had the same problem last season and he ripped it. I don't want to miss months of the season like him.'[LNB]Defoe was joined in the treatment room by Luka Modric who also failed to finish Tuesday's match due to a hamstring strain. [LNB]Neither player, even if they are deemed fit, is likely to feature in Tottenham's Premier League fixture at Stoke City on Saturday with the vital second leg against Young Boys coming just four days later.
