Tottenham move for David Beckham OFF as deal hits the buffers over insurance

Tottenham have confirmed their sensational move for David Beckham is OFF.[LNB]Beckham was expected to join the north London club on a two month loan deal, with Harry Redknapp hopeful of securing the deal before the end of the weekend.[LNB]But the Spurs boss has been left disappointed, saying the move is 'unlikely' to happen due to issues over insurance stemming from his last loan spell at AC Milan, where the former England captain was injured in March and sidelined for seven months.[LNB]It's off: Beckham's move to Spurs looks dead[LNB]Redknapp added: 'There's a big problem with the insurance so it looks like it's not going to happen.[LNB]'David will train with us for a month which I think he would like to do. But as for him playing - it's looking like a no goer.[LNB]'It couldn't happen so, not a problem, we'll just get on with it.'[LNB] However, Beckham will link up with the Spurs squad at the Chigwell base in Essex from next week to keep his fitness ticking over ahead of the MLS season, which kicks off on March.[LNB]He said: 'He's welcome to train at the club and I'm sure he'll have a great influence on the players.[LNB]'David is a fantastic professional - he will be a great influence around the place and I am sure we will all benefit from his winning mentality.
