Gylfi Sigurdsson hopes to keep on delivering the goals for Tottenham after finally starting to live up to the hype which caused the club to out-bid Liverpool for his signature last summer.
Liverpool were clear favourites to sign Sigurdsson because of the Iceland international's close relationship with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers from their time together at Swansea, but he opted instead to move to White Hart Lane.
Sigurdsson said: "It was really important to get my first league goal (against West Ham). Now I've got my second European goal. It gave me a bit of a lift and hopefully we can continue that run and build on it."
Andre Villas-Boas made Sigurdsson his first acquisition as he wanted him to replace Hamburg-bound Rafael van der Vaart, but the 23-year-old struggled to replicate the kind of form which saw him score eight goals for the Swans last term.
The forward has now broken into the first XI, though, and - after two goals in his last three games against West Ham and Inter Milan - he aims to keep finding the net in order to retain his place in the team.
"It's important for every player to get a run in the team," said Sigurdsson, who also set up Gareth Bale for Tottenham's first goal in Thursday night's 3-0 Europa League win over Inter.
"You see Gareth now, he's got a lot of confidence and he's scoring every game.
"I know he's got an unbelievable amount of talent, but it's different when you've got confidence; you can do those things you wouldn't do without it. It's really important.
"I think (the Inter game) was my best game for Spurs. It is good to get two starts in a row and these are the games you want to play in."
Sigurdsson says he chose Spurs ahead of Liverpool because he was convinced the north London club's recent Barclays Premier League finishes indicated that they were more likely to achieve success, and a quick glance at the table suggests he was right.
