Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will fine David Bentley for drink driving incident
Bentley made a contrite apology on the Tottenham's website, admitting that it had been a "wake up call' and Redknapp warned that the player must learn from his indiscretion. [LNB]Redknapp said: 'There will be internal action. I'm very anti-drinking and I'm very anti-drinking and driving. There is no place for it and he was very lucky that no one was injured." [LNB]Bentley trained with Spurs' first team squad ahead of Sunday's opening Premier League game against Liverpool but the incident has put the player out of favour at White Hart Lane: 'He's really low after what he's done,' added Redknapp. [LNB]'You can't make many more mistakes like that. It would cost him and it could cost someone else. There is no place for drink driving.' [LNB]The former Blackburn midfielder is unlikely to feature against Liverpool but there should be a debut for former Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong. [LNB]Redknapp added: 'He's a young player with a fantastic future ahead of him. He's quick, comfortable with the ball and good in the air.' [LNB]This is Redknapp's first season start with Tottenham and, at the age of 62, he remains full of excitement. [LNB]He said: 'It's the same as ever. I'm looking forward to it. We have a good squad and we've had some hard preparation. Liverpool is a tough start, they'll be there challenging the best again but we are hoping we get a good start.'
