Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen says Premier League title race is two-horse race

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has ruled his side out as possible title contenders this season.

Spurs have climbed up to fifth spot after two wins against West Ham and Liverpool in the last week. Andre Villas-Boas' men are ten points behind leaders Manchester United and Vertonghen insists the title is a two-horse race between the Red Devils and Manchester City. Belgian ace Vertonghen concedes Spurs are targeting a top four finish so that they can qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.

"[Manchester] City and United are competing for the championship, the rest of the teams are competing for third and fourth place and I hope we can be there," the Daily Star quotes Vertonghen as saying.
