The Chilean international, who has won 20 caps, struggled for first team football under Jose Mourinho last season, playing just six games without completing a full 90 minutes once. Meanwhile, Galatasaray winger Arda Turan is also interesting Tottenham. The left-sided, right-footed player is already a regular Turkish international at the age of 22. A year ago, Galatasaray rejected a £9 million off from Newcastle for Turan, and since then AC Milan, Juventus and Bayern Munich have all shown interest. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is also believed to be monitoring Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan and the Spanish club's captain Maxi Rodriguez. Forlan, 30, formerly of Manchester United, could be available, while Rodriguez, 28, has a wealth of experience playing in the top flight in Spain and is regarded as one of the best left-sided players in La Liga.
