Tottenham can qualify for Champions League says Robbie Keane

Earlier this week, Harry Redknapp conceded that the club looked likely to be priced out of the race to six the 6ft 7in forward with Liverpool reported to have come in as late bidders. But Keane is adamant that with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko to choose from, Tottenham can mount a realistic challenge for a Champions League spot. 'We've got the firepower to do it now. I'm sure if other players come in, it will only add to the squad. 'Crouch is a good player but I don't really want to talk about players who are still with other clubs. 'This could be a big year for us. Breaking into the top four has to be the aim.' Tottenham failed to qualify for the all-new Europa League last season something Keane claims could be a blessing in disguise. While he admits Manchester City pose a genuine threat to his side breaking the top four, Keane believes not having the additional matches in Europe will allow for Tottenham to direct all their focus on the League. 'Being in Europe can be a hindrance,' he said. 'With all the travelling and stuff, it can be tiring. We're not in Europe this year, so we have no excuses, and we have to make the most of it. 'City are at the same level as us. They have a similar squad to ours, and they've spent a lot of money. Good luck to them. But we've got to concentrate on what we do. Maybe we can be the quiet ones and come from nowhere.''
