Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp tells LA Galaxy to make their mind up over loaning out David Beckham

Loan star: Beckham could be on his way to Spurs[LNB]Harry Redknapp has urged the LA Galaxy not to scupper David Beckham's potential move to Tottenham by dragging their heels over a decision.[LNB]Beckham is keen to return to Europe during Galaxy's close season, with a view to proving to England manager Fabio Capello he deserves a recall to the national side.[LNB]The 35-year-old would have to return the United States for the start of the Major League Soccer season, which kicks off with Galaxy playing the Seattle Sounders on March 15.[LNB]But Spurs are still waiting to hear whether the Galaxy will sanction the move - and Redknapp admitted any significant delay would force him to have second thoughts.[LNB]'I haven't heard anything for a few days. I was looking at (signing him for) at least three months really,' said Redknapp.[LNB]'If it is a very a short-term thing it can be a problem, as much as I would like him and I am a great fan of his.[LNB]'He would be great to have around the place. As a player, as a person and as a professional he is top class. He'd be a great role model for the young players.[LNB]'If we are only talking eight or nine games by the time we get him ready, it is a difficult one. I would have to look at that carefully.[LNB]'I can't suddenly be leaving people out and then after a few games David goes back and I have to mess about with the team again. It would be a difficult one if it is that short a period.[LNB]'We will have to wait until we get all those answers (from Galaxy) and look at it then.'[LNB] Lacking motivation: David Bentley is fed up of not getting a game at Tottenham[LNB]Blackburn and Newcastle have both expressed an interest in signing Beckham but Tottenham are still understood to be the front-runners.[LNB]However Redknapp could not resist a dig at Blackburn's owners, Venky's, a company that specialise in chicken meat processing.[LNB]'I see Blackburn are in as well. Maybe they have more to offer him. They can offer him free chicken for life and we can't compete with that,' joked Redknapp.[LNB]Redknapp confirmed that David Bentley and Robbie Keane can leave the club during the January transfer window.[LNB]Redknapp would accept a loan deal for Bentley but he believes Keane needs a permanent move, having joined Celtic on a short-term arrangement last season.[LNB]'David wants to go out on loan or move permanently,' said Redknapp. 'He has had a long spell of not playing. He is a great talent in my opinion but it is hard for him.[LNB]Moving: Robbie Keane wants to play regular football[LNB]'David is a lad who finds it hard to motivate himself sometimes when he is out of the side. He has been unlucky. Aaron Lennon has been in great form.[LNB]'David needs to get out and play somewhere for his own career. It is a waste of his talent that he is not playing.[LNB]'Robbie is the same. He needs to play. He can play at the top level. A loan wouldn't be an option for Robbie now, it would need to be a permanent move.[LNB]'If they are happy to stay here then I am happy to keep them but I just get the feeling with those two lads especially that they want to get out and play some football.'[LNB]Spurs will also look to secure Jonathan Woodgate a loan move to a Championship club to help the defender return to action after more than a year sidelined by a groin injury.[LNB]'There would be plenty of people interested, for sure,' said Redknapp. 'He is one of the best centre halves in the country if he is fit.[LNB]'I think he'd be happy to go and play in the Championship on loan because he has been out for a while. That would probably suit us better.'[LNB] Chelsea rule out move for David Beckham as midfielder snubs Sunderland boss Steve Bruce... but only to watch Take ThatBlackburn offer Ronaldinho whopping £20m to agree shock switch as they open door to David Beckham loan swoop TOTTENHAM FC
