Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas says Gareth Bale is going nowhere in the January transfer window

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas insists he is not worried about the possibility of losing Gareth Bale in the January transfer window. Bale, who scored a superb hat-trick in the Boxing Day win over Aston Villa, has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid. However, Villas-Boas insists Welsh wizard Bale is not for sale and is confident the 23-year will be staying at White Hart Lane when the transfer window reopens. "I have no concerns at all about the possibility of Bale going in January," Villas-Boas told The Sun. "It's very difficult because in England there are no release clauses and a player of this dimension has a market value that is not obtainable to most of the clubs." Villas-Boas has also played down reports linking Spurs with a move for unsettled Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder admitting they are unlikely to make any new signings in January. "It's very unlikely we will do anything in the window," added Villas-Boas.
